My vote for Funniest Movie Actress

Let's give some female credit where female credit is due. When it comes to comedians, we can all name off 10 'Go-To' actors we like or expect to see in comedies. Most of them will have Saturday Night Live Credits. So I'm going to give this a try; the first 10 comedians to pop into my head.
Steve Martin, Steve Carrall, Jim Carey, Adam Sandler (I will use the term loosely for him nowadays), David Spade, Ed Helms, Rob Schneider, Seth Rogen, James Franco, Ben Stiller.

There's a lot more of course, but those are just the first 10 that came to mind. Now try that for women... It gets a lot harder. Kirsten Wiig has been in near every movie recently that required an 'approachable, yet funny' female role; she really came into her own in Bridesmaids. There was also Melissa McCarthy (I think that's her name, also in Bridesmaids). Cameron Diaz has had her fair share of laughers since Something About Mary, as has Malin Akerman in Heartbreak Kid aka Something About Mary 2 but I wouldn't consider Malin a household name just yet.

Then there's Leslie Mann. She's incredible and her list of comedies stretches over a decade. It helps in casting she's Judd Apatow's wife, no doubt. But she isn't defined by who she is married to. And she doesn't need to be to be looking to Judd for movie roles.

Here she is, stereotypical girlfriend bearing gifts
She has transformed from the 'stereotypical girlfriend' role from The Cable Guy, Big Daddy, and George of the Jungle. Movies that surrounded her with comedians. I first remember her as the crying girlfriend in Tom Green and Jason Lee's decent and underrated Stealing Harvard which was also the Hollywood directorial debut of Kids in the Hall co-founder Bruce McCulloch. Plus, the zenith of Tom Green's movie career. Then came The 40 Year Old Virgin that introduced us to a handful of up and comers from Seth Rogen to Paul Rudd to Steve Carrall and Leslie making for some nice eye candy in the background.

here she is under her other stage name; Dennis Farina
Finally Knocked Up. She was the ultimate MILF. Gorgeous, laid-back, funny as shit. She gave the movie a relatable heart and soul to the slightly older generation where Katherine and Seth failed to deliver. The scene where she and Katherine are rejected at the night club; her for being too old, her sister for being Katherine Heigl... She showed her sister what to look forward to as future parents.

I know, technically this is from 'This is 40' but still...same thing.
I just watched The Other Woman where I finally realized how funny she is and has been, both in her physical comedy and her delivery. She doesn't really steal the movie from Cameron Diaz, but more shares it with her. And while The Other Woman re-affirmed my wife's belief that all guys named Mark are complete douches (ok, at least in the movies) and Jamie Lannister is a dick, Leslie Mann made the movie much more bearable. Put her beside Kate Upton and you wonder what all the fuss is about Kate (oh yea, boobs). We need to watch more of Leslie; here's hoping she's headlining her own movie soon.

But the idea of one man is cheating on all three at
the same time is somewhat unbelievable.
